The Wallet Fiasco

Every trip seems to have something unexpected.  I had packed a separate wallet at home with backup credit cards and some US dollars, intending to keep that secure and not in my pockets anywhere, thus a backup.  When we started unpacking at the hotel in Budapest, I coupld not find the wallet, nor even remember where or even if I had packed it.  Searching turned up nothing and we were becoming concerned.  I kept looking while periodically checking those accounts online.  I really did not think it was lost, but it was unsettling and a little distracting as well.

I finally emailed a neighbor who has a key to our house and he checked the house with no success.  I was now feeling a bit desperate.  After dinner Tuesday evening we worked together on a "deep dive" search of the bags and backpacks.  The wallet turned up in an obscure interior pocket of the backpack that I had not checked fully.  What a relief!  That pocket was a logical choice (once I found it), but I just didn't remember putting the wallet there.

Needless to say, no blogging was happening during this time as I was a bit distracted.  Now I have to catch-up!
