First Stop, Charles de Gaulle (Paris)

The overnight flight from Houston to Paris was uneventful and the airplane was surprisingly not full.  This is the first flight I have seen in a really long time that was not full to every seat.  Our Premium Economy section was barely 2/3 full, business class in front of us had empty seats, and even Economy was not full.  It was nice for a change, but a little strange.

Even more surprising, CDG on a Monday morning has not been jammed either as it was 2 years ago when we came through on our way to Italy.   There was a lot of construction underway then and we had to walk a vey long distance to change terminals.  This time there was a brand new inter-terminal train running very efficiently, and things look new and fresh.  Very little looks as it did 2 years ago.  We also think leaving Houston on Sunday afternoon, arriving here Monday morning might also be a factor. Two years ago we left on Saturday and arrived Sunday morning to a jammed airport full of travelers.  The weekend might be a busier travel schedule. Hard to know for sure.

We have a lot of time to kill with all of this efficiency, so Linda has been checking out the shops.  This really is quit an interesting airport.  Off to Budapest in about 90 minutes.
