Schonbrunn Palace

The Schonbrunn Palace is a 1441 room former imperial palace built in the 1600's after the design of Versailles in France.  It was used primarily as a summer palace by the Habsburg's during their dynasty reigning over Austria.  The grounds are spectacular with massive and expansive gardens.  The palace rooms are beautiful and extravagant in every sense.  I will not attempt to relate the history of the palace here as it is much too long and complex.  As with Vienna,  I strongly recommend you read more about the palace at History of Schonbrunn Palace.

There is an extensive set of really nice photos of our time at the palace in the Photo Albums section.
